And I used to be quite good at destashing yarn. I had a good de-clutter before the move back to Scotland, but since then, there’s been a steady accumulation of stuff. Especially as I’ve been trying out different crafts.
So when Vicki, the owner of the Little Birds Market, announced that this year's April market will be for discounted craft supplies, I signed up straightaway then set up a box to start putting excess stuff into. A couple of weeks ago, I looked at the box contents and found it to be a bit lacking, so I decided to get ruthless and look out ANYTHING that I wasn’t using and could do with offloading.
OK, so that turned out to be a real eye-opener!
Some things were old tools that I hadn’t used after upgrading (mostly knitting needles), knitting books and patterns purchased with the best of intentions, leftovers from a bulk purchase or selection pack or things that had simply accumulated over the 25 or so years since I began knitting. Really – I discovered I have *4* sets of cable needles!
What started out as a medium-sized box is now two boxes spilling out to take over half of my craft room. I was worried last week that there wasn't enough to sell, now I’m wondering how I’ll get it all to the market on Sunday. But I'm sure I'll find a way :-)
So if you’re a fellow crafter and in Glasgow City Centre this Sunday the 12th April, pop into the Argyll Arcade and come see us all in the Little Birds Market. We’re there between 12noon and 4pm. Hopefully, you’ll see something you might find useful and be able to grab a bargain! See you there!
